So I have finally done it... I BIKED TO WORK. I live only 7.5 miles from the office and have been working hear for nearly 9 years and today I finally decided to ditch my sweet ride for a black Schwin. I never reset my bike computer so I can't provide you any details... it took me about 25 mintues and my top speed was 33.5 MPH.
The ride seemed to be mostly downhill except for the climb up and over Decoro from Seco Canyon. I think the ride home will be exponentially more difficult with the gradual rise in elevation and the hot afternoon sun.
Luckily I did not get run over by any cars and I noticed that this city does not have any bike lanes... Their solution is for you to ride on the 'paseos' which means up and down sidewalks... I ditched that idea quickly and just acted like I owned the road.
I plan on riding at least tomorrow but Thursday we may want to leave ASAP for Arrowhead...
