Biking to work Part Two

The ride home last night was VERY DIFFICULT. The combination of terrain (mostly up hill) and heat really pushed me to the breaking point. The ride is only 7 miles long but it is amazing how tired one can be after this short distance. At the 5 mile mark things get very hard as I climb the hill from McBean and Decoro heading over NorthPark. This is a long and steep climb... I wanted to get off my bike and walk so badly, I did not. There were moments when I was only going 4 MPH but I made it. There was not much time to recover as I had to climb the hill leading up to the house in just a couple of blocks.

I decided to ride again this morning and it was so much easier than just the day before. My total time was 22 minutes with a distance of 6.8 miles. Which is a blistering 18+MPH.
The ride was noteworthy for another reason as it was my first time falling due to being bound to my clips. I clip out of only my right foot as I sit or approach a light.... I was just standing there and something caused by body to lean left and I could not get out of my left clip fast enough so I just fell right there. HOW EMBARRASSING!

Great job Jeff. That hill (to me it's a mountain) to your house is a killer. -Tanya

Welcome to the Reimers Family Blog

Hello Reader,

I am amazed at the huge number of people who actually come in (and return) to this site. There are hits from all over the United States and even some people viewing from outside the country.

It is a difficult job to update with any regularity so please send me a note or comment under each post and let me know you are reading!
