Monday was the last day of the quarter which means that every last possible order must be pulled in from the customers. June is usually the craziest of all these quarters as many institutions use this as the end of their fiscal year. When these two forces collide it makes for tremendous stress and some very awesome sales and some very disappointing misses. This June was nothing spectacular with sales but I am glad it is over and we head into the summer months. These next 3 months will prove challenging and are critical for me to build momentum for the end of the year. When I got home from my day I just crashed in bed and was lucky enough to take an hour nap. The sleep was deeply needed and if not for Belle ending up missing I could have napped even longer. We found Belle in the neighbor's yard which meant another trip to Lowe's to find some fencing material to close off more the hillside fence. The fence is not perfect and I hope the fencing we put up will discourage the dog to try to escape.
After erecting the fence we headed out to look at bathroom vanities… although we have probably seen about 100 we can't seem to balance what we like with what they cost. Today's trip was to Lowe's to get another frame of reference for cost and style and then down to Burbank and Ikea. On the way to Ikea we stopped at The Great Indoor's. This place is owned by Sears but is completely high end…. WAY out of our price range. The one vanity we liked was $1,200. So we headed to Ikea and parked in our special parking lot (the loading zone, thanks mom for that hint). They had some bathroom sets but it all looked like Ikea… although very cost effective I don't think we are ready to pull the trigger. We did however find Zach a very cool desk and chair which we were very excited to find. Like most things at Ikea you have to trek down to the warehouse and pick up the materials. This seemed a simple exercise but when legs we had picked were not in stock we thought we could just grab another set from the mix and match section. They were a little more pricey but they were cool anyhow and who wants to come back to Ikea. The whole way home I stressed out that table was not going to fit in the window and was dreading measuring the wall and have to face the reality of going back to Ikea. To my surprise the table fit! As we started unpacking the supplies I could have put my fist through the wall when I realized that the damn legs are not universally made to fit any of the tables in the 'mix and match' section. ARGGHHH….. Oh well, it looks like we are headed back to Burbank for some damn legs, anyone up for meatballs?
